Trader Joe's is known for offering an amazing selection of seasonal items, and the holiday treats we've seen so far have not disappointed. And now, TJ's has taken a winter classic—peppermint bark—and given it a super snack-able spin.
According to a TJ's spokesperson, "Big fans of peppermint bark, we imagined what it would be like to transform the rich, creamy, chocolate-mint deliciousness into a coating...for a light, airy, crunchy popcorn; and then we did it."
The Peppermint Bark Popcorn begins with freshly popped kernels of popcorn. Then, TJ's coats the kernel three times, and each coating is better than the last. When that's all done, the popcorn is coated in salted caramel, then in dark chocolate, and, to top things off, white chocolate with bits of peppermint. According to TJ's, "the kernels are so coated by the end of this that you might not immediately realize there's popcorn under there." Fine with me!
The contrast of textures between the crunchy, chocolatey outer later and the airy popcorn is what makes this treat "the festive snack of the season," the chain says. The popcorn is available now in all stores, while supplies last. You can get a six-ounce bag of the Peppermint Bark Popcorn for just $2.99 throughout the holiday season.
