If you haven't already taken a stance on the Christmas music debate, perhaps Chip Gaines' latest playful dispute with wife Joanna will help sway you.
For years, folks have argued over when it's socially acceptable to start listening to their favorite festive tunes, and now Chip is one of the many getting in on the discussion. The Fixer Upper star recently tweeted to his followers pleading for a little backup in proving to Joanna that her Christmas music habits were off base.
"My wife is convinced that #Halloween is NOT too early for Christmas music," he wrote on Twitter. "Please tell me she’s wrong, right?? #TOOEARLY!!"
The post, which immediately sparked a firey conversation, has already racked up hundreds of replies and thousands of tweets from individuals on both ends of the spectrum.
Some followers tried to make Mr. Demo Day see their merrymaking ways with support for Joanna. "It’s never too early #TeamJoanna," one wrote. Another chimed in, "Well I am watching @HallmarkChannel Christmas movies tonight, so I am going to have to say no! #TeamJoanna."
Others stood firm on Chip's side. "I love Joanna, but I'm with Chip on this one," one tweeted. "She's wrong. Sorry, @JoannaGaines I was wrong one time, too. It happens to the best of us," another quipped.
And some were quick to remind Chip of this old and wise adage: "@JoannaGaines is ALWAYS right. #happywifehappylife," one fan wrote.
Since there's no clear-cut answer, we're going to leave this one up to popular opinion. Are you #TeamJoanna or #TeamChip?
If you aligned mostly with options on the left, you're likely already feeling merry and bright like #TeamJoanna. If you identified more with the choices on the right, you're probably feeling a little bah-humbug about pre-Thanksgiving holiday music and you're #TeamChip. Regardless of which Gaines is your seasonal spirit animal, we think we can all agree: It's never too early for Christmas cookies, right?
