Pioneer Woman Instant Pot

Pioneer Woman Instant Pot

The Pioneer Woman has had a busy fall: Ree Drummond launched an Instant Pot at Walmart in September, keeps adding new items to her adorable home line, and just this week, she announced she'll be getting her very own Barbie doll. As if that weren't enough, she's also doing anyone who needs some comfort food this winter a solid and launching a prepared food line at Walmart. Best of all? Everything is less than 7 dollars.

The line, which will be available exclusively at Walmart grocery stores nationwide next week, is broken up into three categories: comfort food staples, sides, and bowls. Ree told Delish she started with her "go-to comfort foods" when she developed the line. Dishes like country fried steak and meatloaf are "tried and true," she said. "I feel solid about them, and I know a lot of people will love the flavors and textures."

From there, she also wanted to include items that would make cooking easier for busy families. All the meals come with two servings per package and can be heated up in the microwave or oven. "When you have a house full of kids, especially teenagers, the opportunity of staying in the kitchen for hours and making things from scratch—even though I love doing that—that time dwindles," Ree explained.

Side dishes like mac and cheese and loaded mashed potatoes round out a meal with no prep work. Additionally, her three bowls—Tex Mex (Ree's favorite!), Country Breakfast, and Meaty Breakfast—are a very low-key way to make a delicious breakfast fast. Crack an egg or two in a bowl, add the mix-ins, and heat it all up. For $3 and the cost of an egg, you can have a breakfast similar to something you'd find at a trendy southern brunch spot ready in minutes.

Besides being affordable, the dishes are easy to customize. I asked Ree for a few suggestions on how to deck out the meals. Her top suggestions? Turn the bacon-wrapped meatloaf into a sandwich. Add marinara and mozzarella to the fried chicken. And pair the smothered chicken with a cold glass of white wine, duh!
