- Chip and Joanna Gaines say they’re open to having a sixth child.
- They just welcomed their fifth, Crew, this year.
- Jo admitted her pregnancy at 40 was harder than her previous ones.
This year, Chip and Joanna Gaines welcomed their fifth child, baby Crew. And if Chip has his way, there will be more Gaines kids to come!
The couple opened up to People about the age difference between Crew and his older siblings, Drake, 13, Ella, 12, Duke, 9, and Emmie Kay, 8. “It’s hard to believe this little turkey will only be 10 years old when Emmie is graduating from high school,” Chip told the magazine. “I think we have to have another one because I’m particular about the only child thing. Crew needs a sister to manage this whole thing out. Don’t be surprised if No. 6 is in the cards!”
The Fixer Upper stars welcomed Crew in June, and have clearly been loving having another little one around the farmhouse, as their sweet family outings and relaxing moments together show.
But Jo doesn’t quite seem on board for more babies just yet, because she admits pregnancy was harder at 40 than it had been for her other children. “I was limping into work and I couldn’t breathe,” she said. “At 40, it’s definitely a little different.”
In the past, though, Jo has said she might not be ready to stop at five, saying she’s “open to whatever” happens. Plus, her sister, Mary Kay, just welcomed baby number six, so perhaps Jo will want to make things even.
