Chip and Joanna Gaines are moving on to bigger and better things, including a potential new space for their growing Magnolia team.
The Fixer Upper stars recently made a $1.1 million offer for a spacious, three-floor building in downtown Waco in hopes they can transform it into their new home base, according to the Waco Tribune-Herald. The 90-year-old building, dubbed the Grand Karem Shrine Building, is just five blocks from their Silos property, making it convenient for their crew to walk to throughout the day.
“We’re contemplating how to make it work as our new headquarters,” Chip told the Waco Tribune-Herald. “We haven’t closed on the property, but we’re seriously considering it.”
The building would join their impressive roster of assets around Waco, Texas. The husband-and-wife team also own and operate their Magnolia Market at the Silos property, their Magnolia Table restaurant, and the original Magnolia store, which opens as a discount shop several times each year.
The Gaines family are also hoping this renovated space could offer their employees better access to the market. Their current office is located near the original store, “which is practically in the suburbs,” Chip added. They also hope it will spur further development in downtown Waco.
And those aren't the only changes coming to the area. The couple also has plans to overhaul both of the grain silos at the market and transform them into perks for guests. One will be a store for men, which will sell items from "Chip's Corner" of the market. They haven't disclosed their plans for the other silos yet.
With these transformations set to take place over the next few years, both downtown Waco and Magnolia Market could look completely different in the near future. Just think of it as the perfect excuse to plan a fun girl's weekend to see it all for yourself!
