UPDATE: August 8, 2019 at 3:23 p.m.

Don't call it a comeback! Sonic's limited edition Philly Cheesesteaks have returned to menus everywhere, so my day has officially been MADE. And while it looks like the spicy option may no longer be available, we can report that the OG Philly Cheesesteak is now available in two different sizes, so for those of you who couldn't handle the footlong, you now have a much more reasonable six-inch option to indulge in. Oh, and by the way, you can pair it with a side order of tater tots for only $2.99.

Now! For those who felt that the footlong wasn't enough, please don't stress. No one's judging you here. In fact, I come bearing good news! The Philly Cheesesteak is also now available in an "Extra Long" size for only $4.29. And while we're not exactly sure how that compares to the OG Sonic Footlongs, we are confident you'll get even more bang for your buck here. Enjoy it while it lasts, friends.

Fans of the beloved Philly Cheesesteak can now satisfy their cheesesteak cravings at Sonic. The drive-in chain is now offering the famous Phillys, and I advise you order one when you're especially hungry—they're "footlongs."

The Philly Cheesesteaks come in two varieties: Classic and Spicy. The Classic includes grilled steak and onions, melty cheese sauce, and mayo. Not entirely sure that constitutes as a "classic" cheesesteak, but it's $3.99 at a fast-food chain, so it'll do in a pinch. The Spicy option is grilled steak and onions, melty cheese sauce, zesty Baja sauce, and spicy jalapeños, per Sonic's website.

The sandwiches are $3.99 a piece and available for a limited time at participating Sonic locations. Sonic also notes that "Footlong Philly Cheesesteak length is approximate," so for those of you that planned on bringing your ruler to measure, please don't.
