Do you remember where you were when Heinz confirmed they'd officially be making your Mayochup dreams a reality? I just so happened to be sitting at my desk, wondering what accompaniment was perfect for my next batch of French fries when—well, it doesn't matter, but Heinz did that and the internet just about broke.

The reactions to Mayochup have been overwhelmingly positive, but a lot of people are taking issue with the name. Sure, there are a few "isn't this just Russian dressing?" jokes floating around, but mostly people are wondering...why "Mayochup" when there is clearly a phonetically smoother option?

Yeah, so here are a bunch of tweets mourning the existence of Mayochup, all because the people who wrote them believe it should've been "Tomayo" instead:

Even Seth Meyers confirmed he wasn't, uh, into the name:

Delish reached out to Heinz to see if they did, in fact, consider "Tomayo" seriously, and...they did! Heinz Director of Marketing Nicole Kulwicki told Delish:

Yes! We were always open to giving the product a name that resonated most with consumers. When deciding what to call the product, we had a ton of fun reading some great naming suggestions, many of which people are still passionate about today, like “Tomayo,” “Pink Sauce” and “Fry Sauce.” While Mayochup ultimately garnered the most votes (over 500K!), we loved everyone’s saucy suggestions so much that those lucky condiment lovers who signed up for bottles donning their favorite names during the entry submission timeframe in April will be receiving custom wrapped bottles (like “Heaven in a Bottle” and “Fry Sauce”).

So there you have it, folks. Mayochup4EVER.
