What started as a fun family vacation in Hawaii for Christina El Moussa and her boyfriend Ant Anstead almost went south when they found themselves and their kids stranded at the airport ahead of Hurricane Lane.

"First time I have ever missed a flight," Christina captioned a photo sitting with the kids on the floor of the airport. "Hurricane traffic and a visit to urgent care were the culprits. And with 4 kids in tow 🙄😫. I guess Maui wasn’t ready for us to leave. 🏝 ."

Two of the kids, Taylor (age 7) and Brayden (age 3), are hers with ex-husband and Flip or Flop costar, Tarek El Moussa. The other two, Amelie and Archie, belong to Ant and his ex-wife. The six of them looked like they had a blast before the airport ordeal.

Despite the drama, the crew kept a positive attitude.

"I can think of worse places to be stranded!" Ant posted with the same picture. "For the kids..... it's an ADVENTURE 😇 character building 💪🏼 and I am good at building tents from palm trees."

Christina and her kids caught the first available flight at Ant's insistence.

"Love this man!!" she captioned a photo with Ant. "We couldn’t get a flight out of Maui for 6 of us so @ant_anstead insisted me and my kids take the first one. Ant and his kids fly out at 9 pm."

While most took it as a gentlemanly gesture, others seemed to have an issue. One woman commented, "Wow sorry but I think ALL the kids should have taken the first flight, but that's just me !!!!! I'm a mom too of three and in my world 'KIDS FIRST.'"

Christina replied: "There were 3 seats we have 4 kids. You want bray and tay to fly alone with an eleven year old. Jeez so rude and crazy."

Ant jumped in to joke: "Actually she had a point… Bray could have flown the plane. Is that unreasonable?? Or just me?"

Thankfully, all six of them made it back to California safely. "This group is all officially back in Cali," Christina wrote in an Instagram stories update. "Praying for everyone on the islands that the hurricane passes quickly.
