Jennifer Garner — she of Pretend Cooking Show and Hennifer and all things ever fame — stopped by The View recently to talk about what's going on in her life lately. She explained she'd just endured her sixth annual "Yes Day" with her children, which sounded pretty insane:
I'm a strict mom. And you say 'no' all the time. There's a book called Yes Day! written by Amy Krouse Rosenthal, and it's just wish fulfillment. Moms saying yes to silly little things, like putting gel in your hair, or picking the cereals at the grocery store. All day long you get to say yes. And I read it to my middle daughter when she was tiny and she would dream of a Yes Day: 'more than Christmas, more than my birthday, I want Yes Day.' So one year, I just gave it to them ... and they loved it so much. It's just silly! It's like 'yes, we're gonna have ice cream for breakfast, yes, we're gonna buy a lottery ticket.' It's silly, but it's one day. It's the longest day of the year.
Yes, that means Jen's children — ages 12, 9, and 6 — had a field day recently, including an ice cream-filled breakfast and probably an extremely exciting trip to the supermarket.
On a non-food-related note, Yes Day also looks like it involved ... whatever on earth is happening here:
All in favor of annual Yes Days for grown-ups too (besides, like, all the other days you just decide to eat ice cream at 7 a.m., of course) say aye!!!
