Over the past few years, we've witnessed nearly every food get rainbow-fied: rainbow waffles, rainbow spaghetti, rainbow ice cream. But now, one of our all-time favorite bagged chips has been ROYGBIV-ed. Enter: Rainbow Doritos. They are REAL, and snack time is about to get super colorful.
Food Blogger Markie Devo posted about the new snack on Instagram and gave a full rundown on its flavor. He said the Doritos "Rainbow" have a sweet lemon-lime taste with a hint of what might be grapefruit or another citrus fruit. He called the chip unbelievable, and TBH we haven't even had the pleasure of trying them but we agree. Markie also added, "These are very unusual/flavorful, they give you a nice tangy/sour vibe ... I love them!" We're thinking of these having a similar flavor to Tostitos Hint of Lime: lip-puckering — but with a fruiter edge.
As of now, the new chip is only in stores in Mexico, so if you find yourself overseas, eating Rainbow Doritos must come before tacos, tamales, guacamole ... ALL OF IT. If you have no current trips lined up there, though, snack vendor Mexican Candy Lady, sells the bags online, along with other treats only offered in Mexico. Waahooo!
