Clear your calendars: Amazon announced the timing of this year's Prime Day, and it's six hours longer than last year. Starting Monday, July 16 at 3 p.m. EST and running through Wednesday, July 18 at 3 a.m. EST, Prime members will be able to save big on more than a million products across every category — home, furniture, kitchen, outdoor, clothing, toys, and more.

Here's what you need to know about summer's online Black Friday.

How To Shop

The sale is for Prime members only, so if you're not already a member, you can sign up for Prime here. If you're not quite ready to commit, Amazon also offers a free 30-day trial that you can use to shop the sales. Just remember to cancel before the trial ends to avoid getting charged a membership fee.

Throughout the sale, there will be Lightening Deals, which run for a set amount of time, and Spotlight Deals, available until the items sells out. To make sure you don't miss out on any deals, download the Amazon App — it can ping you when deals you're interested in go live.

What's New

This year, Amazon is adding new products just for Prime members, which will only be available for a limited time. Some of these Prime Day Launches are live now, with deals on home and kitchen supplies like Coleman portable grills.

Plan to do your grocery shopping on Tuesday during the sale week — now that the two companies have teamed up, Prime shoppers can take an additional 10 percent off hundreds of Whole Foods' sale items during Prime Day.

Early Deals

Amazon is getting the ball rolling early with a handful of deals already live. Starting today (July 3), shoppers can get $30 off their first AmazonFresh order, as long as it's $100 or more. The promotion runs through July 17, and you'll need to use the code '30FRESH' when you order. Shoppers can also save $100 on an Amazon Echo, in case you need some help from Alexa keeping track of all the upcoming sales.
