This just in from KFC: "People are crazy about pickles."

This just in from Delish: We told you so.

We've been on the pickle train — hell, we've been driving the pickle train — for a couple years now, and it seems the general public is finally catching on. Sonic just launched a Pickle Slush, Disneyland made the pickle-topped Cheeseburger Pizza, and KFC's now bringing Pickle Fried Chicken to its menu.

The strips are a riff on the chain's classic Extra Crispy Tenders. They're breaded breast meat coated in pickle sauce — the first time a national fast food chain has brought pickle-flavored fried chicken to the masses. Pickle lovers, the sauce is FLA-VOR-FUL. It's made with dill and vinegar, obviously, with onion, garlic, buttermilk, and white and black pepper, too. And it's pretty thick — not like pickle juice has just been drizzled over the chicken.

The new tenders are only available for a limited time, but if history is any indication, a successful run could make them a permanent addition. KFC introduced its now-beloved Nashville Hot Chicken as a limited-time item, and the Smoky Mountain BBQ Chicken and Georgia Gold Honey Mustard BBQ Chicken had test runs before landing their forever homes, too.

You can get the chicken as plain ol' tenders or stuffed in a sandwich.
