CNN, the network that carried Anthony Bourdain's Emmy-award-winning show Parts Unknown, has announced a special weekend of programming following Bourdain's death Friday. In a tweet posted by the CNN Communications account, the network said they will be "remembering our friend and colleague Anthony Bourdain this weekend by sharing his talent and stories."
A CNN Special Tribute commemorating the chef's adventure-filled life will first air Friday night at 10 p.m. EST. Remembering Anthony Bourdain will air again on Sunday at 10 p.m.
On Saturday, June 9, the network will air Bourdain's favorite episodes of Parts Unknown starting at 8 p.m. On the show, Bourdain traveled to far-flung destinations like Armenia and Beirut, and spent time getting to know America, with episodes in places as different as Los Angeles and West Virginia. Since it first aired in 2013, the show has won five Emmy Awards and a Peabody Award.
On Sunday, the newest episode of Parts Unknown, "Berlin," will air at 9 p.m. as previously scheduled. Anderson Cooper is set to give a special introduction. The episode will be followed by an encore presentation of Remembering Anthony Bourdain.
