As of this marvelous holiday weekend, Snoop Dogg has a Guinness World Record under his belt for the largest "paradise cocktail" ever mixed. He made it with gin and juice. It is enormous. You might not have accomplished much in the last three days, but he sure as hell did.
Snoop mixed the record-breaking drink—which he himself introduced to the masses in his 1993 debut album Doggystyle, back when he was Snoop Doggy Dogg—at the BottleRock Napa Valley festival with assistance from Warren G and Top Chef's Michael Voltaggio.
The recipe is something like, the Mercury News reports: Take 180 bottles of Hendricks gin, dump them into a 5-foot-tall and 3-feet-wide vessel, and top off with as much orange-colored juice as will fit. Garnish with a person-sized cocktail umbrella. Gather 100 of your closest friends, and serve. Relish the buzz, savor the fallout. In total, the drink was 550 liters, or about 145 gallons.
So cheers to human perseverance and the ideal, vitamin C-packed drink to forestall that Memorial Day hangover just a few more hours. Sip, enjoy.
