Apparently, British royal wedding receptions function the same way low-budget American ones do. Someone with an affinity for booze — usually a distant cousin who brews beer in his garage — hops behind the bar to help friends and family on their journey from tipsy to wasted. Only, at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's party, that person was George Clooney. And he wasn't pouring bottom shelf vodka; he was serving shots of tequila from his billion-dollar tequila brand.

The news comes from Page Six, who reports a source told them "Clooney got behind the bar and was making cocktails for everyone" in addition to slinging shots of Casamigos. Clooney recently sold his mega-successful tequila business — co-owned by Rande Garber, supermodel Cindy Crawford's husband — to Diageo, a British alcohol company that owns dozens of other big brands including Captain Morgan, Smirnoff, and Bulleit.

Amal Clooney and the Duchess of Sussex shared a hairstylist and reportedly were friends before the wedding, but the Clooneys might have had another famous connection that scored them an invited. Jack Brooksbank — fiancé of Prince Harry’s cousin Princess Eugenie — has been a brand ambassador for Diaego since 2016. It helps to have friends in high (and boozy) places.
