Meghan Markle made her debut as a bride today wearing her signature beauty look—glowing skin, bold brows, smoky eye makeup, and pink lips.
Though it was originally reported that Markle might do her own makeup, it has since come out that celebrity makeup artist and Markle's friend Daniel Martin was the man behind her wedding day beauty look. Martin originally met Markle at the New York City Upfronts for Suits back in 2011.
“I was really flattered to know that I was going to be a guest at the wedding and to be able to share this incredible moment with her,” Martin said on Friday's episode of ABC's 20/20. “I didn’t assume anything, [so] when I got the invitation, of course, I was flattered and so stoked.”
Martin says when he found out Markle was dating Prince Harry through a newspaper while on vacation. When he texted her asking for more, Markle simply sent back a wink-face emoji.“That’s how we communicated a lot — through text or through emojis — and she has the best memes,” Martin says. "We just totally clicked and got along. So seven years later, we’re still great friends."
Martin likely used a mix of Dior makeup and Honest Beauty to create her makeup look, two brands he works closely with. Her eyes were the main beauty feature. She wore a smoky gray eyeshadow and bold, fluttery lashes, with brows that were strong and filled-in to anchor her face. The classic, flirty look seemed like a nod to Audrey Hepburn in Funny Face.
Her skin was kept natural and glowing, which is not uncommon for Markle. She loves to have her freckles visible and not concealed by heavy foundation. Her lips were painted a peachy pale pink shade of lipstick that had a satin finish.
