Jennifer Garner is a lot of things: America's sweetheart, a mom of three, cofounder of baby food company Once Upon A Farm, and, apparently, a total chef groupie. After obsessing over a couple of Ina Garten's recipes, Garner is now showing off her favorite Martha Stewart one.
"I’ve been making this @marthastewart recipe for years — the roast lemon chicken alone is enough to make you sing!" Garner captioned her newest gallery of Instagram photos. The recipe she's referring to is Stewart's Roast Lemon Chicken and Rice Soup. The lemon-y stock base is homemade — because, duh, this is a Martha Stewart recipe — but Garner reveals a shortcut: To make it in a hurry, use broth from a box. "Don’t tell @inagarten!" she writes. Typically, the recipe calls for rice, too, but Garner says it's optional, and it looks like she's left it out.
This isn't the first time Garner's made a Stewart original. The actress appeared on Stewart's shows a handful of times to make a variety of dishes and crafts, including a cranberry glaze for Thanksgiving turkey and bow-shaped cookies. But lately, Garner's taken to showing off her cooking — and smoothie-making — skills, sans TV chef. She launched a series of videos on Instagram, what she calls her "Pretend Cooking Show", that's featured recipes for her favorite granola bar and bagels. Other times, she just shares a recipe with photos, like kale chips or this soup.
Garner's obviously got a lot on her plate — including a new movie coming out this fall — but her Instagram's got us wondering: Could she be the next actress-turned-chef to launch a cookbook?
