Cereal is pretty much one of the most perfect foods out there: you can have it at any time of the day, it always tastes good, and it takes no skill to prepare. And lately, cereal companies have been more creative than ever with what they're offering.
Here are just a few examples: There were Peach Cheerios, which followed a recent trend around all things peach, like peach Coke. Lucky Charms Frosted Flakes were a dream cereal mashup, with crunchy Frosted Flakes mixing with the familiar marshmallow shapes of Lucky Charms. Most recently, Golden Oreo O's have hit the scene, making '90s kids all over the world rejoice.
Basically, it's safe to say that there's no lack of tasty, sugary breakfast cereal out there. And now, Post is introducing another cereal that will bring the taste of a beloved cookie to your bowl.
Nilla Wafer Banana Pudding Cereal is about to hit shelves this summer. The cereal incorporates Nilla wafers with the flavors of banana pudding, so it really blurs the lines between breakfast and dessert. The wafer pieces are flavored with banana flavor and marshmallows, to give the cereal a distinct banana pudding taste, just like Grandma used to make.
According to the food blogger at the Junk Banter Instagram feed, this is just the latest Post cereal to incorporate a Nabisco cookie, which is a delicious trend that just keeps going. Luckily, you'll be able to get your hands on this cereal sooner rather than later; it will be available at Walmart next week, and will retail for $3.98 a box.
