When Fuller Goldsmith went to Palm Springs for a weekend getaway, he thought he and his mom were there to hang out by the pool and relax while his father had business meetings. Little did he know that it was all a ruse for him to meet his culinary idol, Guy Fieri.

Last year, the 14-year-old won Chopped Junior on the Food Network, but instead of keeping his $10,000 prize, he donated it to the Children’s of Alabama hospital where he was treated for cancer. Goldsmith first beat acute lymphoblastic leukemia when he was three-years-old.

Over the next 10 years, Goldsmith went in and out of remission two more times. While going through cancer treatments, Goldsmith watched Fieri’s shows from bed and was inspired to start cooking.

To give the selfless teen a prize he could keep, Entertainment Weekly decided to surprise Goldsmith and invite him to meet and cook with Fieri at Guy’s Stagecoach Smokehouse at the Stagecoach Festival at the end of April in California.

"Do you have a million questions you want to ask him right now?" an EW reporter asked Goldsmith. His reply: "I at least got a couple."
