There's a hack to scoring free Krispy Kreme donuts — and no, it doesn't involve shamelessly flirting with the employees, and this has nothing to do with those "Hot Now" sign rumors. All you have to do to snag a glazed donut, totally gratis, is download the chain's Rewards member app. Seriously. It's that easy.
Just head to the app store, search for the Krispy Kreme app, and hit download. In fact, if you're feeling lazy, we'll make it easy for you: Here's the direct link to the app for Android users and Apple fans. You'll have to register as a member, but when you do, you'll receive a voucher for a free Original Glazed donut. And, on your birthday, they'll up the ante with another free donut to help you celebrate in true sugar coma-inducing style, as the universe intended. (You'll also earn points every time you use the app to buy things at one of its stores, which can translate into ... more free donuts.)
Unfortunately, the freebie only applies to the chain's classic donut, so you won't be able to try the new, one-week-only Lemon Glaze on the house. Of course, that shouldn't stop you from trying. 😈
The app's a lesser-known perk that's definitely worth having on your radar, particularly when you use the "Hot Now" function of the app to get an alert when the Krispy Kreme closest to you is serving treats straight off the glaze-fountain-dripping assembly line.
