When it comes to ice cream, I'm more of a treat yo self kind of a girl than a calorie-concerned kind of girl. I'd rather eat five spoonfuls of Chunky Monkey Ben & Jerry's than an entire pint of the healthy stuff just for the sake of assuaging my conscious.

Every time I've tried even the best Halo-Top flavors, I'm left with the faintest taste of erythritol — which isn't exactly what I'm going for during a gut-wrenching episode of This Is Us. But it's not just Halo-Top that has contributed to my disliking of low-cal ice creams. I've tested tons of different "good for you" brands (looking at you, Enlightened), and my sentiment toward all has been the same.

So when Arctic Zero sent over an entire box of its newly revamped Light Ice Cream for the Delish team to try, I couldn't help but be an immediate skeptic. However, never one to refuse free dessert, I grabbed a spoon and took a bite of the cookies & cream flavor. I was floored.

Not only did it taste exactly like the heavier ice creams I'm used to, but I was pleasantly surprised by how airy and refreshing it was. That said, I didn't feel like I was eating air at all. Each bite was more satisfying the next, so much so that I had to try three more flavors just to believe it was really happening: I actually LIKED it.

These new flavors don't contain sugar alcohols like erythritol, corn syrup, or artificial sweeteners. Made with natural cane sugar and skim milk, each pint is under 400 calories (the vanilla bean is only 280 calories for an entire pint!). It's got everything I look for in ice cream, minus the stomach ache left behind by my beloved Chunky Monkey. I don't know how you did it, Arctic Zero, but you've officially converted me to a low-cal ice cream lover.

Arctic Zero's Light Ice Cream is hitting grocery store freezers this month, so take my advice and stock up ASAP.
