Jell-O shots have the uncanny ability to turn any gathering into an instant party. Even if you're not getting totally hammered on the shots themselves, just the whole experience of taking your liquor this way makes you feel like a college kid again. They're an absolute no-brainer at Thanksgiving: there's no family that doesn't have some kind of awkwardness—or that relative who is so much more fun tipsy. Here, we made four different takes on the pie shot—because, just like at dessert time, everyone has their own particular favorite pie.

Cherry Pie Shots

Dissolve 3 oz. cherry-flavored Jell-O in 1 cup boiling water, then add 1 cup of cold vanilla-flavored vodka and 2 tbsp. chopped cherries, and mix. Divide the mixture into four mini graham cracker pie crusts, and allow to set 8 hours. Top with whipped cream and a cherry.

Pumpkin Pie Shots

Sprinkle 2 packages unflavored gelatin (like Knox) over 1 cup water into a medium saucepan, and let sit. Then turn up heat, and add 1/2 cup canned pumpkin pie mix and stir. Allow mixture to simmer, then set aside to cool. Add 1/2 cup white rum and 1/2 tbsp. heavy cream. Pour into 8 mini graham cracker pie crusts, and allow to set 8 hours. Top with whipped cream.

Bring 3 cups apple cider to a boil over low heat. In another bowl, sprinkle 4 packages unflavored gelatin (like Knox) over 1 cup salted caramel-flavored (or plain) vodka, and stir. Pour in hot cider, and stir until dissolved. Pour into 8 mini graham cracker pie crusts, and allow to set 8 hours. Top with whipped cream and caramel sauce.
