Season three of Fixer Upper may have come to a close (sob!), but look on the bright side: Season two was just released on Netflix and you know what that means—it's time for a Fixer Upper viewing party!
To celebrate, we decided to whip up a refreshing Texas-style cocktail that Chip and Joanna Gaines would certainly approve of. We even headed over to JoJo's Pinterest page for some inspiration.
Joanna's Peach Tea Punch recipe calls for farm-fresh peaches, but we decided to add some tequila and peach schnapps to the mix as well to make our Magnolia-Inspired Spiked Sweet Tea, a boozy concoction that's sweet and sassy. (Some folks refer to a Long Island Iced Tea that uses tequila as "Texas Tea"—but rest assured, our version doesn't involve quite as many different kinds of liquor.)
This tipple is one of those easy pre-made punches that allows you to actually enjoy your party, instead of playing bartender all night. (You wouldn't want to miss any of Chip's hilarious antics, of course.) We also came up with the genius idea to use frozen peaches instead of ice, so your drink doesn't get diluted—though it's so good you'll probably finish your glass well before the ice would have a chance to melt anyway. This tea pairs best with a Mason jar and a batch of strawberry cheesecake bars (inspired by the impending arrival of Joanna's bakery, Magnolia Flour, natch!).
In short, we're not saying you should binge drink while you binge watch, but we do suggest whipping up a pitcher full of this punch to enjoy while you watch episode after episode after episode—and if you're up for a little fun, try playing our Fixer Upper drinking game!
