We're probably all in full agreement that food is better fried and nothing gets a party started like shots, so (thanks to some inspiration from the blog Lemons For Lulu) we had a crazy idea — go with us here — why not combine the two? If people can get away with deep frying butter, we can deep fry shots. FAIR GAME.
Summer is ending in a couple weeks, and we legit can't deal, so we're drowning our sorrows in alcohol that is deep fried. Rock bottom, ladies and gents. It sounds really complicated and something that would require a trip to a state fair, but you can totally do this yourself at home. Promise.

Heat oil in a large pot, then mix lime juice with tequila in a medium bowl (make sure to keep the alcohol away from the flame!). Dip a cube of angel food cake into the tequila mixture, then fry until golden. Garnish with powdered sugar and some lime zest and start popping those deep-fried cake shots. Lol, don't even try to compete, butter.
