I never think to make barbecue sauce — I always buy it — and for no good reason. It's not hard to make, nor is it expensive. In fact, it's pretty dang easy to whip together in 20 minutes or less. I plan to turn my sauce-making laziness around this summer, and I encourage you to do the same. Considering how good this Root Beer BBQ Sauce is to make, I think I'll have plenty of motivation.

All you need to do is dump root beer, ketchup, honey, brown sugar, a dash of Worcestershire sauce and a squeeze of lemon juice in a small pot and simmer it together for 15 minutes. That's it. Once the sauce has reduced a bit, you can slather it onto basically anything and everything. Like wings!

If you hate root beer, you're not off the hook. You can definitely taste the soda in this sauce. It's not overpowering but it's definitely noticeable, which I, as a root beer lover, quite appreciate. White Barbecue Sauce is my absolute favorite chicken condiment. And this Jack Daniel's Sauce comes in a close second. The big lesson here: MAKE YOUR OWN BARBECUE SAUCE! It's too easy not to.
