Remember the days of worms and dirt dessert cups? You know the ones — chocolate pudding, crushed Oreos, gummy worms, and grass-colored toasted coconut? If you loved that childhood treat, you're probably going to have a straight-up conniption over these adorable Carrot Patch Brownies.

I wish I could take full credit for these babies, but the truth is, Pinterest is absolutely blowing up with cute Easter recipes. And while carrot patch cupcakes are all well and good, I wanted something that combined all the pizazz of a carrot patch dessert, with just a bit less fuss. Swap the cupcakes for brownies (it shaves off a little time with the frosting) and voila: a fool-proof but fabulous Easter dessert that's just as good in the off-season, too.

Don't be scared off by the theatricality of this dessert; despite their wow factor, they're pretty simple to make. Start with boxed brownie mix and pre-made frosting to keep things easy, and don't be too precious about your strawberries; just like carrots fresh out of the dirt, it's okay if they have a few imperfections! The process also builds in lots of prep time, meaning you can make your carrots while your brownies bake, then let them dry while the brownies cool (this is a critical step. Nobody wants melty frosting!). And a word from the wise: don't skip the skewers. They make dunking your strawberries way easier.

After you've assembled your scene, garnish your carrot patch with Robin Eggs candies, jelly beans, or any other egg candy. It adds an extra dose of pop to the patch (and another bit of sweet to your plate).
