Candy-infused alcohol isn't just a college phenomenon; we made sure to spread the knowledge with Skittles Vodka Slushies. Fun and crazy as they are, rainbow slushies are for summer; Candy Cane Vodka is for right now. Christmas is about to get lit.

Believe it or not, infusing vodka with candy canes isn't much different than infusing it with skittles. Combine the alcohol and candy in a mason jar, seal it tightly with lid and shake like crazy. We recommend chilling the mixture in the fridge, because cold vodka is always better—even when it's decked out with peppermint cheer.

After five hours (or sooner!) the vodka will be bright red and ready to turn up the fun wherever you are. The candy canes should be almost completely dissolved in the alcohol, so there's no need for straining. Unless you're VERY particular about totally pure candy cane vodka. (We aren't.)

If you're drinking your candy cane vodka as a shot, don't even worry about a chaser. The cherry-red liquid so sweet and minty, soda is totally unnecessary. As someone who normally despises even the most expensive of vodkas, you can trust me on this.

If shooters aren't your thing, boozy peppermint hot cocoa will be. Or boozy peppermint coffee. Either can (and should be) stirred with big candy canes and topped with whipped cream. You're welcome for making the holidays so much more fun.
