Butter pecan ice cream is my weakness. My grandparents always had a tub of it in their freezer when I'd go over to their house. But aside from ice cream, I never think of the flavor combo—time to change that. These buttery, brown sugary cookies have a delicious salty-sweet pecan batter, but it's not even the cookies that are the best part; it's the maple buttercream.
This buttercream frosting takes these cookies to the next level. It's just butter, powdered sugar, maple syrup, and heavy cream, but OMG. Nothing like some maple flavor to get into the holiday spirit. If you're a real maple nut, you can even swap out the vanilla extract in the cookie batter for maple extract. Game-changer, I tell you!
Decorate the top of the cookies with more pecans (or don't), which you can do in any way you'd like. We chose to do three ways, but you do whatever you feel like. (Pretty much our cooking motto at Delish, if you haven't already realized.)
