We rocked the world of millions of Harry Potter fans in 2015 when we came out with homemade Butterbeer. With a few extreme HP fans on staff, we had zero expectations until I woke up the morning after it went out and texted Jo Saltz, the Delish site director, "People are nerds." Y'all loved the idea of recreating the wizard-worthy drink at home.

Now that it's summer — and, conveniently, the 20th anniversary of the day the first book, Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone, was released — we had to indulge our HP love and adapt Butterbeer for hot weather. With cream soda and butterscotch syrup, the Butterbeer base gets topped with a buttery whipped cream.

Now you can simply drink it like this if that's your jam, or make it a float by coating the glass in more butterscotch syrup and filling a glass (preferably one adorned with the Hogwarts crest, which was acquired on our recent visit to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter) with vanilla ice cream. The buttery whipped cream makes it true Butterbeer; you'll feel all wizardy and shit.
