When Nickelodeon announced it'd be resurrecting Double Dare—the '90s gameshow that pitted two families against each other, in a test of trivia know-how and the sheer ability to seek out orange flags amid gallons of neon-green slime—the Internet blew up. It immediately became a trending topic on Facebook, even though the show itself would be coming back for one night, and one night only: Friday, July 22.

The show returns to celebrate its 30th anniversary, bringing back host Marc Summers, and capping off the second night of San Diego Comic-Con in the most nostalgic (and slime-filled) way possible. Though the show itself is a total throwback, the way it's airing is totally 2016: Instead of being broadcast on TV, you can catch it live on The Splat's Facebook page. The stream starts at 9:30 p.m. PST, which means tuning in a bit later (12:30 a.m.) for you East Coasters.

For those of us whose dreams of competing have been dashed, fear not: There's still a way for you to get your Gak on. In homage to the iconic show, we created a green Slime cake. It's a riff on the classic Green Slime Birthday Cake featured in Nickelodeon Magazine (another hit we'd like to see resurrected).

This cake is best served naked, letting your guest of honor get the coveted job of "sliming" the cake with its vanilla pudding topping. We found that using an even mix of plain green and neon green food coloring got the most spot-on, '90s Nickelodeon slime, but in a pinch, using 18-20 drops of either color will do. Besides, people will have way too much fun making a mess to care whether the color's a perfect Pantone match.

As you may have noticed, we couldn't resist hiding an orange flag in the cake, in the ultimate nod to the show. After all, what's Double Dare without getting your hands dirty? If you decide to do the same, turning your dessert into a smash cake, don't bake the flag into the cake; just stick it between the two layers, letting the buttercream frosting hold it in place.

Also, if you're curious where we got our flag, we went all DIY, and just cut a triangle out of a vinyl tablecloth. Beyond easy.

What are you waiting for?! This is one physical challenge nobody can resist—even if you don't win a Yamaha keyboard or a trip to Orlando, FL.
