All eyes will be on Westeros — er, HBO — this Sunday, when Game of Thrones debuts its seventh season (delving past series creator George R. R. Martin's books), and there's no better way to watch the carnage unfold than with a massive platter of Dragon Fire Wings.
What makes them 'Dragon Fire,' you ask? Who are you, Jon Snow?! Do you know nothing?! Well, honestly, you raise a fair point. The wings are a mix of spice, a little smokiness and a whole lot of tangy sweetness — basically, they embody Daenerys Targaryen's fire-breathing babies: Generally sweet, but they can have a fierce bite, depending on how many chipotle pepper flakes you add.
Tongue-scorching hot wings would be an obvious choice for the sauce, but it's hard to enjoy a watch party when your eyes won't stop watering, so we veered more crowd-friendly fare. If your crew can handle some serious heat, you can follow the two optional steps in our recipe to get them much, much spicier.
Of course, it wouldn't be a feast fit for khaleesi (or even a Lannister) unless you had one serious spread. The Seven Kingdoms can keep their pigeon pies and bowls o' brown; liven things up with more mainstream dishes, like loaded French fries and kale-artichoke dip. For dessert, get in touch with your inner Sansa Stark and serve up a lemon cake.
If you're inviting more than two people, you might want to make a double batch of wings. Make that triple. They'll disappear faster than Tyrian fleeing King's Landing.
