Drop this confetti cookie dough ball on the table this New Year's Eve, and watch it disappear before the clock strikes midnight. All you need to do to create this edible cookie dough masterpiece is to create a cream cheese-chocolate chip cookie dough mixture, then roll it in the sprinkles of your choice. The beauty of this sweet appetizer? It works for any occasion! Switch up the sprinkles for your desired holiday, and you've got a showstopping, easy dessert idea to use all year long.
Tip: While you can refrigerate the cookie dough before rolling it in the sprinkles, I highly recommend freezing it. It will hold so much better, and will be so much easier to form into a ball.

Ingredients
- 1 1/2
(8-oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
- 4 Tbsp.
(1/2 stick) unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup
(60 g.) confectioners' sugar
- 1/4 cup
(55 g.) packed brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp.
pure vanilla extract
- 1 cup
mini chocolate chips
- 3/4 cup
assorted rainbow and silver sprinkles
Nilla wafers and pretzels, for serving
Directions
- Step 1In a large bowl, using a handheld mixer on medium speed, beat cream cheese and butter until light and fluffy. Beat in confectioners' sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla, then fold in chips.
- Step 2Place 2 overlapping sheets of plastic wrap on a work surface and scrape cream cheese mixture on top. Using your hands, form mixture into a ball. Place in a small bowl, then tightly cover with plastic wrap. Freeze until firm, about 3 hours. (Once it’s semi-firm, after about 2 hours, you’ll be able to better shape it into a ball.)
- Step 3In a small bowl, mix rainbow and silver sprinkles.
- Step 4When ready to serve, transfer ball to a platter. Cover with sprinkles. (If your ball is firm enough to roll, try that.)
- Step 5Serve with Nilla wafers and pretzels alongside.
