When people refer to a dish you made as 'unforgettable,' they really mean it in one of two ways: (1) It was so unbelievably good they'll try in vain to replicate it for the rest of their lives, only to come up woefully short of your masterful cooking; or (2), it was such a horrific disaster they still cringe at the very memory of its flavor and will forever try to pass it off as "not so bad."

No one better exemplifies the latter than the iconic episode of Friends where Rachel (AKA Jennifer Aniston) makes a trifle. Two pages of her cookbook get stuck together, causing her to make half of a raspberry-custard trifle—and half of a shepherd's pie. See it for yourself:

We decided to pay homage to the unforgettable dish, recreating it to see whether it truly "tastes like feet," or if we fall more into the Joey camp: "What's not to like? Custard? Good. Jam? Good. Meat? Gooood." It's not every day you get to create a dish that makes people want to run to the bathroom so they can watch themselves eat it, or one that makes birds swoop from the sky and steal it right off people's plates when you're not looking.

In news that should surprise no one, we've got to side with Ross, Chandler and Monica on this one. Sorry, Rach. Your hair still looks flawless.

So, even if the lattice crust on your apple pie looks busted, or you deep-fried the turkey into a scorched mess, know that you are not alone. Cooking fails happen to the best of us—and sometimes they create comedy gold.
