Ingredients
For the pie
- 1 Prepared pie crust
- 2 Tbsp. butter, melted
- 2 Tbsp. cinnamon sugar, divided
- 1/4 cup Butter, softened to room temperature
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 1/4 cups all purpose flour
For the glaze
- 4 Tbsp. cream cheese, softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup whole milk
Directions
- Step 1Preheat oven to 350°. Place pie crust into pie plate and crimp the edges, if desired. Brush dough with butter and sprinkle with 1 tbsp cinnamon sugar.
- Step 2In a large bowl, add butter and beat with a hand mixer until fluffy, about 2 minutes. Add sugar, baking powder, salt and cream of tartar until well combined. Add egg, milk and vanilla and beat again. When smooth, beat in flour until completely combined.
- Step 3Pour filling into prepared pie crust and sprinkle with remaining cinnamon sugar.
- Step 4Cover with foil and bake 20 minutes, remove foil and bake 20 minutes more, until top is golden. Set aside to cool.
- Step 5In a medium bowl, combine cream cheese, powdered sugar and milk. Using a hand mixer, mix until smooth. Add more powdered sugar for a thicker glaze if desired.
- Step 6Drizzle glaze over pie and serve.
