Canned chili and crescent dough makes this recipe ridiculously easy. It can be served as a main course or as a fun addition to any game day party spread. For a more traditional Cincinnati style chili cheese dog, we recommend using bean-less chili.
If you've got a little more time on your hands, fancy it up by making your own homemade chili instead of the canned stuff. (Our Ultimate Beef Chili is the best.)

Ingredients
- 1
(8-oz.) can refrigerated crescent dough
- 8
hot dogs
- 1 cup
shredded cheddar
- 2
(15-oz.) cans chili
- 2 Tbsp.
butter, melted
- 1 tsp.
finely chopped chives
- 1/2 tsp.
garlic powder
Directions
- Step 1Preheat oven to 375°. Roll out crescent dough and pinch the perforations together to seal. Cut into 8 even squares. Sprinkle cheddar on each square and roll around hot dogs.
- Step 2Spread chili in an even layer on the bottom of a 9"-x-13" baking dish. Place hot dogs in a row side by side on top of chili.
- Step 3In a small bowl combine melted butter with onion powder and chives. Brush over hot dogs and place in the oven to bake for 30 minutes, covering with foil if the crescent dough begins to get too dark.
- Step 4Top with more chives and serve.
