Ingredients
- 1 box white cake mix, plus ingredients called for on box
- Blue food coloring
- 1 1/2 cups white chocolate chips, melted
- Black food coloring
- 1 strawberry fruit roll-up
- 3 mini powdered sugar donuts
- 2 cups marshmallow Fluff
- 1 Tbsp. water
- 3 cups whipped topping (such as Cool Whip)
Directions
- Step 1Preheat oven to 350º and grease a 9"-x-13” pan. Prepare cake mix according to package directions, adding a few drops of blue food coloring, and bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, about 25 minutes. Let cool.
- Step 2Meanwhile, make shark fins: Mix melted white chocolate and a few drops of black food coloring, until correct color is achieved. Transfer to piping bag. Pipe fin shapes onto a small parchment-lined baking sheet and place in the freezer.
- Step 3Make life preservers: Cut 3-inch-long pieces of fruit roll up and cut those pieces into quarters. Wrap four around each powdered sugar donut and fasten with some marshmallow fluff, if needed.
- Step 4With the end of a metal spoon, poke holes in the cake all over. In a medium, microwave-safe bowl, combine marshmallow fluff and water. Microwave for 10 seconds on high and mix until fully combined. Pour all over the cake, making sure to fill the poked holes.
- Step 5In a large bowl, add 5 drops blue food coloring into the whipped topping, folding a few times but not incorporating completely. Frost cake with whipped topping and top with shark fins and life preservers. Serve.
