These gooey chocolate treats are the perfect boxed cake hack.

Ingredients

  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 3 cups chocolate chips, melted
  • 2 boxes chocolate cake mix
  • 2/3 cup melted butter
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 tsp. teaspoons vanilla
  • Powdered sugar, for serving

Directions

    1. Step 1Make fudge centers. Whisk together the chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk until evenly combined. It will become hard to stir. Scoop small balls and place on a parchment-lined pan. Transfer pan to the freezer and freeze until the fudge is hard, about 1 hour.
    2. Step 2Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Generously grease a standard 12-cup muffin tin and set aside.
    3. Step 3Beat together the cake mix, butter, eggs and vanilla until completely combined. The batter will be very thick. Spoon a thin layer of the the batter into the bottom of each muffin cup. Add the frozen fudge balls. Cover the fudge centers with another layer of batter. Bake for 12-14 minutes. Remove and allow to cool slightly before removing from tins.
    4. Step 4Sprinkle with powdered sugar and enjoy warm!
