Ingredients
For the Brownies
- 11 Tbsp. butter
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp. kosher salt
For the Cheesecake Topping
- 1 8-oz. package cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 1/4 tsp. pure vanilla extract
Directions
- Step 1Make the brownies: Preheat oven to 350° and grease the bottom and sides of a 9"-x-9" baking pan with butter or cooking spray.
- Step 2Melt butter over low heat in a medium saucepan. As soon as it's melted, remove from heat and let cool, 3 to 4 minutes. Stir in cocoa powder and sugar until combined, then gradually mix in eggs and vanilla until the batter is glossy.
- Step 3Combine flour and salt, then slowly add them to the brownie batter, stirring just enough to combine. Pour brownie batter into prepared pan.
- Step 4Make the cheesecake swirl: In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, sugar, egg and vanilla and beat until smooth. Drop spoonfuls along the top of the brownie batter, then use a butter knife to gently swirl the brownie and cheesecake batters, creating a marbleized effect.
- Step 5Bake for 28 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the brownies comes out with just a few crumbs (no gooey batter).
