Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 3 cloves garlic, chopped and divided
- 2 Tbsp. freshly chopped parsley, plus more for garnish
- kosher salt
- Freshly ground black pepper
- 1 Tbsp. canola oil
- 1 cup marinara
- 1/4 cup butter
- 4 slices white bread
- 4 slices mozzarella
- 1/2 cup pepperoni
Directions
- Step 1Make patties: In a large bowl, combine ground beef, 2 cloves garlic, and parsley and season with salt and pepper. Mix together well, then form 4 patties with your hands.
- Step 2In a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat, heat oil. Cook patties, flipping once, until medium, 6 minutes per side. Drain fat.
- Step 3Pour marinara into skillet and let simmer, then in a second large skillet, melt butter. Add remaining garlic and cook until fragrant, 1 minute. Add bread and cook until golden.
- Step 4Heat broiler. Meanwhile, assemble patty melts: On a baking sheet, add bread. Top with a burger patty, sauce, and a slice of mozzarella. Add pepperoni and broil until cheese is melted and pepperoni is crispy, 3 minutes.
- Step 5Garnish with parsley and serve.
