Though the name might make you think of all things spooky, the Zombie is a citrus-forward Tiki cocktail that will have you thinking about a day at the beach before you think of an invasion of the undead. This version, and the original created by Donn Beach in the 1930's, has 3 types of rum in it; legend says that the first person who tried this strong cocktail felt like a zombie for days afterward. But after we drink a Zombie? We mostly want to hustle to the nearest pool party! Regardless, this fruity, boozy drink is the perfect Halloween cocktail to serve at your spooky bash.
This recipe comes to us from the famous Jekyll and Hyde's in New York City. The classic West Village bar closed in 2022, but its spooky legacy lives on with this Zombie cocktail recipe. It was one their most popular cocktails—and the one that's most likely to catch people off-guard with the shot of 151 floating on top. Though it may seem strong, we promise that this devilish concoction is totally drinkable and filled with tropical flavors that will keep you coming back sip after sip.
