Chocolate Chip Frosting

Ingredients
- 3 sticks unsalted butter, well softened
- 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar, sifted
- 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
- 1 heaping cup mini semisweet chocolate chips
Directions
- Step 1In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat butter until smooth. Scrape down sides of bowl and add sugar, no more than 1 cup at a time, beating first on low and increasing mixer speed to high. Scrape down sides of bowl and continue adding sugar and mixing until frosting is completely smooth. Add vanilla and beat until incorporated and frosting is fluffy and smooth, 1 to 2 minutes more.
- Step 2Using a spatula, stir in chocolate chips.
