The only way to make grits more delicious? Make them pimiento style and #putaneggonit.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups water
  • 1 cup corn grits or polenta
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup drained jarred pimiento peppers
  • chives, for garnish
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper

Directions

    1. Step 1In a medium saucepan over medium heat, whisk together water and grits. Bring to a simmer and cook until creamy, stirring occasionally, about 10 minutes.
    2. Step 2Meanwhile, fry eggs in a large saucepan over medium heat until whites are set and yolks still runny, 3 minutes.
    3. Step 3Stir cream cheese and pimientos into grits.
    4. Step 4Divide grits among four bowls and top with a fried egg. Garnish with chives and season with salt and pepper.
