I'm a sucker for a mash-up: I love seeing a good cookie pizza, a s'mores cheesecake, or even a churro dog. So for our most recent cooking project, the team set out to make some sweet mash-ups of our own using the ultimate baking shortcuts: brownie mix and store-bought cookie dough. We found ourselves with four completely reimagined takes on dessert classics, all of which are ridiculously easy to pull off. These cookies are as simple as stuffing brownie batter inside chocolate chip cookie dough, but the end result is definitely greater than the sum of its parts.

Ingredients

  • 1 box brownie mix
  • 1 roll refrigerated cookie dough

Directions

    1. Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
    2. Step 2 Scoop 1-tablespoon-sized balls of cookie dough from the roll. Split each ball and form into two bowls, indenting the centers so that they can hold the brownie batter.
    3. Step 3Mix the brownie batter according to package instructions.
    4. Step 4Spoon one 1/2 teaspoon each of brownie batter into half of the cookie dough bowls, as shown above. Cover with the remaining (unfilled) cookie dough balls, pinching lightly at the seam to seal the edges.
    5. Step 5Bake at 350 degrees F for 12 to 14 minutes, or until lightly browned. Move cookies to rack to cool.
