Happy Birthday Cupcakes

Ingredients
- 6 cups Vanilla Buttercream Frosting
- Orange and pink paste (icing) food color*
- 24 Yellow Cupcakes
- 1/2 cup colored sprinkles (we used mixed yellow
- 1/2 cup colored sprinkles (we used mixed pink
- You also need: “HAPPY” letter candles, cake candles and 24 extra paper cupcake liners
Directions
- Step 1Tint 2 1⁄2 cups frosting orange and 1 cup pink; leave 11⁄2 cups white. Spread 3 to 4 Tbsp orange frosting each on top of 8 cupcakes, pink on 5 cupcakes and white on the rest. Using a small offset spatula, spread frosting into smooth peaks.
- Step 2Place each batch sprinkles in a separate shallow bowl. Roll edge of cupcakes in sprinkles as shown.
- Step 3Place candles in cupcakes. Set cupcakes in clean liners and arrange on a platter or gift boxes.*Available in crafts and party supply stores and in stores selling cake decorating essentials.
