Infuse standard hot dogs with a subtle zesty kick by simmering them in beer, onions, and chiles.

Ingredients
- 4 hot dogs
- 6 oz. beer
- 1/2 onion
- 2 jalapeños (optional)
- 2 cups sauerkraut
- 2 Tbsp. mustard
- 4 hot dog buns
Directions
- Step 1In a medium pot, bring hot dogs, beer, onions, and jalapeños (if using) to a simmer. Let simmer uncovered for about 5 minutes.
- Step 2Add sauerkraut and cover. Cook another 2 to 3 minutes. Mix in mustard just prior to removing from heat.
- Step 3Lightly toast the buns for a few minutes in the oven. Put hot dogs and sauerkraut mix in bun. Serve.
