It is said that there are only a few certainties in life: death, taxes, and the boys on Love Island trying, and mostly failing, to impress their partners with the simplest breakfasts you’ve ever seen. One of the most enduring traditions in the villa is the boys making breakfast for the girls each morning, though I’m sure many of the girls would prefer a chef on site. While this year’s cast seems more focused on pancakes, and admittedly better-looking plates, there are always at least a few stragglers struggling to crack an egg, figure out the instant coffee pot, or spread avocado on toast. With this in mind, I’ve gathered 15 of our easiest breakfast recipes that even the most helpless of Love Island boys could make (hopefully).

There is no rule that says something has to be complicated to be delicious, or even impressive, and breakfast is a great example of this. A few Love Island favorites, like pancakes, avocado toast, and scrambled eggs are super simple and when done right can look and taste fantastic. Just be sure not to give two pancakes to one girl and just one to another…

One of the easiest ways to simplify breakfast, whether you don’t have time to cook a full meal or you don’t know how, is to avoid the oven in general. I don’t think we really need to see any of the contestants trying to cook and serve a full multi-course meal. Stovetops, blenders, and toasters are your breakfast best friends. We’ve got plenty of healthy smoothie recipes that the Islanders would love as well as several quick and easy toast recipes like our yogurt toast, our cinnamon toast, and perhaps our most Love Island dish of all, our eggs in a basket.

Whether you watch right when the episodes drop or early the next day, we’ve got you covered with plenty of quick healthy breakfast and breakfast for dinner options. Just remember, if you’re gonna do your big one, you might as well do it over a nice meal.
