We can all agree—deviled eggs are an incredible anytime appetizer. Though it’s true that they’re the best use of leftover Easter eggs, when we say anytime, we mean it: we’re making these babies for the spring holiday, and then all year long. We’re not just talking plain eggs here either, and instead like to add different seasonal flavors and ingredients to our eggs to keep them feeling fresh. From easy ideas to full-on recipes, there’s lots of inspiration here so you can do the same.

We like to start with the basics, which here means making the best hard-boiled eggs you can. We’ve got lots of tips and tricks so you can get them just right (including how to peel them!), every time. Don’t want to fuss with boiling them? We’ve got instructions to make them in your air fryer too.

Once you’ve got your eggs boiled, then the fun can really begin. We’ve included a number of fun recipes and ideas here, from Mexican street corn deviled eggs, to carbonara deviled eggs, to bloody Mary-inspired eggs, but the sky is kind of the limit. Our greatest tip? Start with the classic recipe, and add extra ingredients to your hard-boiled yolk mixture before you fill your egg whites. They add a little pizzazz on top (herbs are nice, but anything from spices to whole pieces of pickles or bacon works!), and you’ll be good to go.

Buffalo Deviled Eggs

We've been known to buffalo a thing or two because buff sauce tends to make everything, well, better. Deviled eggs = no egg-ception. Simple mix egg yolks with 1/3 cup mayo, juice of half a lemon, 1 1/2 tablespoons mustard, 3 tablespoons blue cheese, 2 tablespoons buffalo sauce, and a little salt and pepper. Feel free to garnish the tops with more cheese and hot sauce too!

Everything is better with bacon—especially when it's maple-glazed bacon. To make it, simply pan-fry bacon strips and brush maple syrup on after flipping. This goes into both the yolk-and-mayo filling and the garnish on top. Go all out, ya know?
