Though we’re all about shining a spotlight on contentious (Brussels sprouts, beets…) or more bewildering (radishes, leeks...) ingredients, there are some that need barely any introduction, like cherry tomatoes. Similar to avocados or peaches, the answer to “what should I do with them?” is put them in EVERYTHING (yes, even a cocktail like our Tomato-tini). That said, if you’ve got a special pint from the farmers' market or are drowning in mini tomatoes from your garden, we’ve got you. These 30 cherry tomato recipes will make perfect use of your end of summer bounty (and can be enjoyed all year long!).

When we say cherry tomatoes, we are specifically talking about those sweet mini globes with the thin skin, but oblong grape, slightly larger cocktail, or mysteriously labeled "baby" tomatoes will all work in most of these recipes too. The best thing about all of these is that, yes, they are exceptional in July and August, but are also your best bet if you’re craving a tomato in the dead of winter. That’s because they contain less water than, say, a beefsteak tomato, so they don’t get as mealy out of season.

On to the recipes! Cherry tomatoes are great as the star of a dish, like in our cherry tomato pasta, our whipped mozzarella dip with burst cherry tomatoes, or our baked feta pasta, or just as a supporting cast member, like in our creamy Tuscan chicken, our Greek salad, or our feta, spinach & tomato-stuffed salmon. Cherry tomatoes also make for a great anytime condiment, but don’t just take our word for it—make our roasted tomatoes, our homemade sun-dried tomatoes, or our rosemary tomato jam and just try not to add them to all your meals.

It takes everyone’s favorite cheese to the next level by injecting it with delicious pesto and serving it with juicy roasted tomatoes (specifically cherry tomatoes that have been tossed with olive oil, garlic, and herbs, then slow-roasted to perfection).

Tomato Tini

Instead of olive brine, this martini gets its rich flavor and vibrant color from tomatoes. If you’re skeptical, hear us out: Think of this cocktail as a cleaner, crisper version of a Bloody Mary. And the botanical flavors of gin pair surprisingly well with the tomato, and evokes flavors of both the fruit and the leaves of the plant (an aroma that has inspired many trendy candles, BTW).

The key to flavor success with this easy chicken dinner is building it right in the skillet. Start with cooking bacon, then use the bacon fat to sear the chicken breasts for nice and warm browning notes. Now it’s time to get the tomato sauce going, beginning with a buttery base of garlic, tomato paste, and Italian seasoning, then creating depth with two types of tomatoes: cherry and sun-dried. A final sprinkle of feta cuts through the richness, giving each bite the perfect balance.
