When game day rolls around, I’m craving something crispy, cheesy, and packed with familiar flavors, and this Buffalo chicken waffle fry recipe is the ultimate shareable comfort food. It starts with crispy baked waffle fries, seasoned with ranch powder for a tangy kick. Meanwhile, frozen chicken tenders get their own ranch seasoning treatment before being tossed in a buttery hot sauce. Once the fries and chicken are golden and crisp, they’re layered together and loaded with shredded cheddar and Monterey Jack, creating the perfect cheesy base.
After a quick melt in the oven, it’s all about the toppings. Crumbled blue cheese adds a sharp contrast to the spicy chicken, while shredded carrots and sliced celery bring freshness and crunch. A drizzle of creamy ranch and a sprinkle of chives finishes off this epic platter, making it the ultimate game-day snack or casual dinner option that everyone will love.

(1 1/2-lb.) bag frozen waffle fries
- 2 Tbsp.
ranch seasoning (from a 1-oz. packet), divided
- 1
(1 1/2-lb.) bag frozen fried chicken tenders
- 1/4 cup
hot sauce
- 2 Tbsp.
unsalted butter, melted
- 1 1/2 cups
shredded cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese
- 1/4 cup
crumbled blue cheese
- 1
carrot, shredded on the large holes of a box grater (about 1/4 c.)
- 1/2
large celery stalk, thinly sliced (about 1/4 c.)
Ranch dressing, for serving
- 2 Tbsp.
sliced fresh chives
Directions
- Step 1Arrange racks in upper and lower thirds of oven; preheat to 450°. In a large bowl, toss fries and 1 Tbsp. ranch seasoning. Transfer to a baking sheet; spread in an even layer. In same bowl, toss chicken with remaining 1 Tbsp. ranch seasoning. Transfer to another baking sheet.
- Step 2Place fries on top rack and chicken on bottom rack and bake, rotating trays front to back and top to bottom and tossing halfway through, until chicken tenders are cooked through and fries are crispy, 25 to 27 minutes.
- Step 3Meanwhile, in a large bowl, whisk hot sauce and butter.
- Step 4Reduce oven temperature to 350°. Transfer chicken to a cutting board and chop into bite-sized pieces. Add chicken to bowl with hot sauce mixture and toss to coat. Top fries with chicken pieces. Sprinkle with cheddar and/or Monterey Jack.
- Step 5Continue to bake until cheese is melted, 5 to 7 minutes.
- Step 6Transfer chicken and fries to a platter. Top with blue cheese, carrots, and celery. Drizzle with ranch dressing. Sprinkle with chives.
