Let’s kick fall up a notch with these spicy margaritas! I wasn’t quite ready to give up summer and the warm tequila cocktail vibes, so I created these delicious margaritas, which welcome the equinox and turning of the leaves one sip at a time. This cocktail is perfect for those warm autumn days and cool crisp nights where you don't know whether to grab a glass of red or white—you can reach for the apple cider and tequila instead. The hot honey in this cocktail is the perfect sweet with a little heat, and Calvados is adding this “je ne sais quoi” of caramel apple and kettle corn in the best way possible.
A spicy margarita is a classic no-brainer when it comes to what you want to drink or make when entertaining, and this seasonal riff is just the right tweak to get you to settle into sweater weather. I'm not reinventing the wheel when it comes to cocktails; however, I am showing you all the ways the wheel can turn!
Why reposado?
Reposado means “rested” and that means that the tequila has had some time to age in and develop more flavor. The reposado tequila is a great partner to the rich flavors of the calvados and hot honey…but blanco does the trick as well if that’s all you got.
